Scholarships are Now Available for Massachusetts Casino Career Training Institute
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the Springfield Technical Community College Foundation and the Holyoke Community College Foundation have provided funding to create scholarships for MCCTI students. In addition, MCCTI has been designated as a pre-apprenticeship training program through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), a federally funded employment and training program.
Q1. How do I qualify for a scholarship?
A1. Scholarship candidates must be registered for classes through MCCTI and must complete a scholarship application. The application has five questions addressing financial need and job readiness. Scholarships are for new students only. Not those that are already hired by MGM or working in the dealer industry. Q2. How are the scholarship applications evaluated?
A2. A three-person panel will review applications. Preference will be given to Springfield area residents who show financial need, are unemployed and / or are ready to accept a job if offered.

A3. The pre-apprenticeship training program is a program established by the Massachusetts Division of Apprentice Standards. Guidelines have been established to make sure students within a program gain the skills necessary to pass the interview process with an employer.

A4. WIOA is a federally-funded program, designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
